Treat Tick Bites- Skin Scraping for Deeper Infection

I'm recommending the mthod to treat tick bites

1> Immediately scrape the bite deeply , till it's not itchy.

2> Apply menthol oil products on the skin.

( The product helpful and effective and currently available in Australia)

3> Have food and drink of cool to cold nature, and avoid that of warm to hot nature.

That simple? Yes . Effectiveness? Immediate to feel , - and takes a few hours to see the result on skin. Get well in 1.5 day.

Keys:

  • Skin Scraping (gua sha) must be deep , and it's different from surface scratch, and the later causes swell.

  • Usually using coins or spoons or stones. It's using the weight of the object to reach deeper easily.
So when we understand the reason, we can use anything for the right effect, anywhere. Even our knuckles.

  • Scrap with your feeling. Till you don't feel itchy anymore.

In fact we may find different feeling when we use the method in different parts of body. This means different situation, and different treatment. So with your feeling as the guide , it would not be underdone or overdone.

When you feel itchy, it's infecting, and when you feel pain, it's inflammation. Please be honest and deal with care to yourself. Pain does not exist at the initial stage. DO NOT SCRAPE FURTHER when you feel pain.

  • Treat immediately

When bacteria hasn't had enough time to regenerate or spread through blood circulation to other parts of the body. Such method is to push the heat( infection) from deepest it reaches to the surface on spot, to stop any potential effect.

  • Apply menthol oil on surface

In situation when menthol oil isn't available , proper scraping is enough to take effect. When finishing, you feel comfortably relieved down under skin from irritation, while the surface burning. Real deep scrape doesn't cause swell.

When using menthol oil after the process, the effect of menthol will be doubled than usual. As it can be absorbed by much deeper layer of the skin than it usually reaches , hence have even cooler effects , and sometimes you feel the cool and pungent feeling reaches down along veins.

Mint itself is pungent to carry away heats from surface, scraping is from deeper under to release full range and potential heats hidden. The process itself helps menthol absorbing, then it further helping the pungent process from deeper level than usual. The result is much stronger than any one of the two can reach.

The method helps to deal with full potential of infection , especially down under skin. And the quicker, the less to deal with. And leaves less skin traces.

Possible questions:

Where the method applies?

  • Itchiness caused by insect bites.
  • Bacteria infection under skin.

What if you have other cold nature disease at the same time?

Choose food and drinks of neutral nature.

What if I feel pain ?

I don't recommend discomfortable scrape. Most pain due to

  • inflammation
  • swell.
  • excessive food and drink of hot nature without care

( This happens when the immediate treatment is missed so that the sting gets bigger to the next stage.)

Apply Menthol oil only , and for swells, especially on the edge, as it's the part where the pain from exactly)

Effectiveness? Immediate

Pain removal immediately , and the swell can be visibly smaller immediately if you apply right on the edge of the swell.

Will scrape break the skin?

When the method is used from the immediate beginning of the sting, there's less chance for skin break from scraping, as it's the minimum "heat" it has to deal with.

At a later stage with swell, you may find it's very natural to have skin break especially at the center, when the swell contains certain amount of liquid . And the process is healthy overall.

However avoid skin break purely from over scratch with dirty goods. So apply menthol oil help to sanitise skin after scrapes as it contains natural antibiotic.

Should I scrape or not when it swells?

It depends on your own feeling of skin, scrape when itchy , even after it swells and you can scrape the center even. It's effective.

However , don't scrape when you feel pain, and apply menthol oil only on surface.

Where scraping should apply?

Wherever itchiness reaches.

Let your sense as the guide -

So from beginning it could be only the center of the sting, yet, it's recommended to scrape the surrounding, to find out where itchiness exists. In lots chances , it would go along veins from the sting center. and I believe some further outbreaks of dots are infection through the veins.

You find yourself often need to scrape parts without any visible traces of bites or swells, along the veins. You will find potential itchiness, and this means invisible however further infection .

In some case, you may also find swell under calm surface that you don't feel anything. However scraping the edge, your feel itchiness, after that, the swell becomes smaller.

You also find scraping is useful when applying right at the center of the swell even at later stage, if you feel itchy.

Further explanation

This recommended treatment is fully based on my own experience on insect bites, especially the latest bites from ticks.

The recommendation is from study through different methods , and especially the latest using various methods on sting spots at the same time.

Symptoms of tick bites

  • Itchiness at the beginning, sometimes without obvious trace at the skin.
  • further itchiness and dots may appear on surrounding
  • Pain when swell and when have food and drinks of hot nature, or in hot shower.

One spot of the itchiness from one deeper side of my scar. So I believe it's more like bacteria infection. And the surrounding itcheness along with new dots similar to bacteria related skin allergy.

So far I've got 5-6 times insect bites. And have tried different ways.

These including complete scratch, during the process the skin dramatically swells like all the energy of a nuclear bomb exploded under skin, and burning at the surface like burns from hot pots. Yet, despite the swell, what disappeared through a complete "scratch" is irritating itchiness.

When the explosion reaches its extreme, I applied menthol oil repeatedly , that means immediately after pungent feeling disappears.

The method takes 2 days to fully heal. And the disappearance of the swell, as dramatic as it appears.

However trying the menthol only, there is repeated itchiness and still certain degree of swell, due to the part infection that cannot be reached by oil down under skin immediately. Apply Menthol oil, takes usually 3-4 days to fully heal.

My initial method from very first time used simple scratch, to intentionally push the inflammation to its uttermost, then naturally disappears. The process took longer around 1 week, and the swell looked dramatic.

However all the method I tried to cure the insect bites has one principle, that is :

The best way is to release the harmful substance right from the sting spot, so it least affects any deeper down through your blood to your body and to harm further your organs.
